Publishing a book is a journey and like any journey certain supplies/preparations are required before you can take the first step toward your destination. Now of course you can begin a journey without the suggested prep/supplies but at some point along the way these things will be required and you will either have to stop and/or turn around in order to acquire what was needed from the beginning. Thus we at Great Publishing have come up with a brief list of requirements along this journey. We call this list the Small Steps to Great Publishing.

1. Preformatted Layout - If you have not even begun writing the standard size for our publications is 5.625in by 8.625in. We have a word document preformatted to specs which you can download and begin your masterpeice or cut and paste your works thus far into the template this will make the process a great deal easier in the long run especially with regard to determining how much money you are going to spend on printing. We have a few authors who are not computer savvy. If this is confusing to you do not fret we can help you out later in the process.
   
   
2. Complete Manuscript - We understand that you are possibly anxious about getting the process underway and just want to jump into publishing. We also understand that you probably have a ton of questions as just like we did before we founded Great Publishing. We undersatnd that your work means a great deal to you and you want to share it with the world but honestly until you have a complete manuscript our hands are tied and we cannot be of any assistance to you in the publishing department. Seriously this applies without exception.
   
   
3. Copyright Manuscript - It is strongly advised that all artists in any genre copyright thier works, unless of course they want someone laying claim to and reaping the benefits of said works. Go to www.copyright.gov and download the proper forms. Great Publishing will be happy to handle this step for you for a nominal processing fee. The more preparation you do upfront the less time and money you will have to spend as your publication moves closer to fruition.
   
   
4. Manuscript Pre-Review - Even the best of writers make mistakes in the first draft of their works. You should have someone you trust take a look at your manuscript for grammatical errors and to provide you with an honest opinion of your story/poetry.
   
   
5. Edit Manuscript - Correct all the mistakes found and do any neccessary rewrites. You could always hire an editor and thereby knock out steps 3 and 4 in one swoop. Great Publishing will glady recommend some editors for your manuscript.
   
   
6. Submit - Send complete manuscript to our mailing address

7. In-house Review - We will read it and double check for errors. Should we discover any errors we will return then return the manuscript to you for any final revisions. We can make the corrections for you for a nominal fee.
   
   
8. Sign the Contract - Upon returning your manusrcipt to you for corrections if they are needed and upon the completion of our in house review if they are not you will be sent a contract. All works on our end will come to a halt until the original* contract is returned to us with your signature in the places noted. *you are welcome to make a copy of the contract for your record but the original must be returned to Great Publishing Company
   
   
9. Layout - Told you we could help you out later in the process. As previously stated all of our publications are 5 5/8 x 8 5/8 The layout for print is 6x9 with .75 minimum margin. No cost per print can be determined until the complete manuscript has been laid out.
   
   
10. Cover Design - Our graphic designer will discuss ideas with you regarding cover concepts and then sketch a few roughs. You can work with another designer or design the cover yourself if you are savvy in that department. A cover design for you book will cost $200 if you are publishing with us and $350 if you just need a book cover design and are not publishing with Great Publishing Company
    
    
11. Estimate - Once the layout and artwork are complete we will provide you an estimate for cost of printing (this estimate will not include the cost of shipping which cannot be determined until your order is printed and weighed).
    
    
12. Print - Once you review the estimate simply place your order at the fee agreed upon.
    
    
13. Shipping - Your order once placed can be shipped anywhere in the world you however are responsible for the cost of shipping these cost must be settled in for us to ship your order.
